VPS Quick Start

A new server should be treated as an internet-facing system from the moment it is provisioned.

Before the first login

  • Confirm the assigned IP address, operating system and service ID in the Client Area.
  • Confirm the plan resources and network allocation shown for the purchased service.
  • Keep the initial credentials private and avoid sending them through public or untrusted channels.

First login

Connect using the method supported by the selected operating system. For Linux, SSH is the normal administrative path. For Windows, use the access method and licensing terms shown for the selected image.

Update the operating system

Install current security updates before deploying applications. Package commands vary by distribution, so confirm the distribution before running an example.

Debian / Ubuntu example
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
AlmaLinux / Rocky Linux example
sudo dnf upgrade

Create an administrative baseline

  • Create a non-root administrative user where appropriate.
  • Prefer SSH keys for Linux administration.
  • Restrict administrative services by firewall or trusted source where practical.
  • Set the hostname and DNS records deliberately.
  • Disable services you do not use.

Deploy the application

  1. Install only the software the workload needs.
  2. Bind services to the intended interface and port.
  3. Configure TLS for public web applications.
  4. Test locally before exposing the service publicly.

Production readiness

  • Configure monitoring.
  • Plan recoverable backups before the server contains irreplaceable data.
  • Test DNS, TLS, application health and restart behaviour.
  • Document the service ID, public addresses and application owner.

Language

Display currency

Display preference only. Existing WHMCS invoices, transactions and account credit remain in the account billing currency.
Some technical and legal text may remain in English as the safe fallback.
