Article 3: Self-Service OS Reinstallation & Management

Reinstalling Your Operating System

If you have misconfigured your server or wish to switch distributions (e.g., from Ubuntu to Debian), you can do so instantly via the SVR4U Portal.

  1. Log in to the SVR4U Client Area.

  2. Navigate to Services > [Your VPS Name].

  3. Click the Reinstall tab in the management menu.

  4. Select Your Image: Choose your desired OS (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, etc.).

  5. Confirm: Warning! This will permanently delete all data on your server.

  6. Wait: The process takes roughly 60–90 seconds. Once completed, your server will reboot automatically with your original IP address.

Using the Emergency Console (NoVNC)

If you accidentally lock yourself out of your server via a firewall rule or lose your SSH key:

  1. Click the Console button in the SVR4U Client Area.

  2. A new window will open providing a direct video feed of your server's screen.

  3. You can log in manually using your username (root) and password.
