Article 1: The SVR4U 40Gbps Infrastructure (Technical Deep-Dive)

Overview

Unlike standard hosting providers that rely on 1Gbps or 10Gbps copper uplinks, SVR4U is built on a high-performance Mellanox ConnectX-3 40Gbps Fiber-Optic Fabric. This backbone connects all nodes within our cluster, providing a near-zero latency environment for distributed applications.

What 40Gbps Means for You

  • Zero Bottlenecks: Most VPS providers "oversell" their 1Gbps lines. Our 40Gbps fabric has enough "lanes" to ensure every client gets the full burst of speed they paid for.

  • Internal Data Transfer: If you own multiple SVR4U servers, moving data between them happens at incredible speeds.

  • Low Latency (Jitter): Because fiber optic has lower electrical interference than copper, your database queries and microservices communicate faster.

How to Verify Your Speed (Linux)

We encourage our "Power Users" to test their throughput. To test internal network speeds between two SVR4U servers:

  1. Install iperf3:

    Bash

    apt update && apt install iperf3 -y

  2. On Server A (Receiver):

    Bash

    iperf3 -s

  3. On Server B (Sender): Replace [INTERNAL_IP] with the private IP of Server A:

    Bash

    iperf3 -c [INTERNAL_IP] -P 16 -Z

    Note: We use -P 16 to open 16 parallel streams to fully saturate the 40G pipe.
