Network Infrastructure Upgrade & Upstream Failover Testing

Dear Customers,

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the performance, resilience, and overall reliability of the SVR4U network, our Network Engineering team will be carrying out a series of upstream connectivity, routing, redundancy, and failover tests across our infrastructure.

These tests form part of a broader network upgrade initiative designed to strengthen our upstream connectivity and ensure that our infrastructure is able to respond correctly and automatically in the event of an upstream, network edge, routing, or system failure.

During this work, our engineers will be testing and validating several components of the network, including:

  • Upstream provider connectivity and routing

  • Network edge failover behaviour

  • Redundancy and automatic cutover mechanisms

  • BGP routing and route convergence

  • Backup network paths and recovery procedures

  • Traffic engineering and path optimisation

  • Network capacity and overall resiliency

  • Monitoring, alerting, and failover response procedures

Possible Service Impact

During the testing, customers may experience brief and sudden connectivity interruptions, increased latency, packet loss, route changes, or temporary disconnections.

Please do not be alarmed if you experience a sudden disconnection during this period. In many cases, this will be an expected result of the failover testing being performed by our Network Engineering team.

Individual failover tests are expected to last only a couple of minutes, and connectivity should automatically recover once traffic is successfully redirected through the designated backup or alternate network path.

The purpose of these tests is to confirm that, should a real-world failure occur involving our network edge, upstream provider, routing infrastructure, or supporting systems, traffic will cut over to the appropriate failover path as expected, with the shortest possible disruption to customer services.

Our engineers will be actively monitoring all testing in real time and will immediately investigate any behaviour that falls outside the expected failover process.

Why We Are Performing These Tests

As our infrastructure and customer network continue to grow, it is important that we regularly test not only normal network operation, but also how the network behaves during actual failure scenarios.

The objective of this work is to provide:

  • Greater network redundancy

  • Improved upstream diversity

  • Faster and more predictable failover

  • Improved routing stability

  • Better traffic distribution

  • Increased network capacity

  • Reduced impact during future upstream or infrastructure failures

  • A more resilient platform for continued network expansion

No action is required from customers.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding while these improvements are being carried out. These tests are an important part of ensuring that our network is able to react correctly when failures occur and are part of our continuing investment in providing a stronger, faster, and more dependable infrastructure for all SVR4U customers.

Further updates will be provided should there be any significant changes or once the network upgrade and failover validation work has been completed.

Thank you for your continued support and trust in us.

Best regards,
